What Is a Keratin Lash Lift and Why Try It?

Lash lifts are nothing new and in fact have been around since the 80’s under the previously used term: Lash Perm. Once re-branded to a lift, this service only skyrocketed in popularity! Lash lifts have come a long way since harsh chemicals and uncomfortable lash contraptions. Here is all you need to know about lash lifting and if it’s right for you! The quick answer: yes, it is definitely right for you!

Before + Afters:

  • A semi-permanent treatment that curls your natural lashes from the base to create a lifted voluminous look. With Keratin infused into each step of this process you will notice your hairs feel stronger and healthier post treatment! The perfect alternative to lash extensions creating a softer look without the maintenance of extensions. A lot of lash lift products used are not infused with keratin and will not provide the same result. Consult with your technician to find out what type of product they use.

  • Your eyes will be closed for the duration of the appointment which lasts about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes if you add a tint. A silicone rod or shield is adhered to your eyelid with a water soluble glue and the hairs are placed up on to the shield into their curled position. Next, the first solution is applied to the hair. This solution softens the bonds of the hair. After that the second solution is applied and this one sets the hair into its new shape. At this point we tint if you choose. Lastly, a serum is applied to seal the hairs and provide deep nourishment and hydration to the lashes.

  • Yes, we love adding a tint to this service! After the second solution is removed, the tint is applied before the nourishing serum. Tinting can yield amazing results when added to this service even if you have darker lashes to begin with. Most people don’t realize how light the tips of their lashes are and the tint helps in making them appear longer, fuller and you no longer even need to use mascara.

  • Yumi! The world's first and best true keratin treatment for lashes and brows! We are always going to use only the best and cleanest products on the market! Yumi is 100% made in France adhering to the more stringent EU regulations and as a result is hypoallergenic, vegan, cruelty-free, non-toxic, paraben-free, formaldehyde-free and ammonia-free! With Keratin infused into each step of this process you will notice your hairs feel stronger and healthier post treatment!

  • The main reason we choose to use Yumi for this service is to prevent any damage to your lashes! With the quality of this product and the training we have undergone the chances of compromising the integrity of your hair is slim to none! There is a chance of damage to the hair with lesser quality products on the market and trust us, we’ve seen it! If you’re being sold a quick processing time and a speedy appointment the technician is most likely using a fast-acting solution that can overprocess the hair resulting in breakage and orange colored hairs. Slow and steady wins the race! If you’re not in Santa Barbara and want to try this service we recommend using Yumi’s locator on their website to find a technician in your area!

  • It’s true that the longer and fuller the lashes are you’ll see a more dramatic result. That doesn’t mean you won’t have an excellent result with shorter lashes! It always makes a difference even with the smallest lashes.

  • Anywhere from 8-12 weeks depending on how well you care for the hairs post service and how well you follow the pre and post instructions.

    • Arrive with no makeup on your entire face

    • Remove lash extensions at least 72 hours prior to your appointment

    • Do not use waterproof mascara leading up to your appointment

    • Remove contact lenses before service is performed

    • Plan ahead and wash your hair prior to your appointment as you will not be able to wet your lashes for 48 hours

  • We recommend coming every 8-12 weeks to stay consistent with your new lash look. If you don’t want the treatment to be fully gone before coming back, 7-10 weeks is usually the perfect amount of time!

    • Keep your lashes dry for 48 hours

    • Do not apply mascara or makeup to your lashes for 48 hours

    • Do not apply creams or serums around your eyes

    • No heavy sweating, saunas or facials for 48 hours

    • Brush lashes every morning

    • Keep your lashes conditioned and nourished with a keratin or lash conditioner for best results
